The Netflix App for Android is Now In Working Order [UPDATE: not working anymore]

The LG Revolution system dump was just over a week ago and after the hungry Android enthusiasts picked their way through the contents they were able to grab the Netflix app from the system.  It seemed like you would finally be able to show your iPhone toting friends that you could stream movies to your device, too. Well, that was the idea anyways. It turned out the app was extracted but it didn’t work on many (if any) phones. This all changed today thanks to what is said to be a simple auto-update. The app is known to be working on only a few devices. Read the full thread over at XDA, check if your device is confirmed to be working and grab the .apk down below.

Working Devices:

  • DROID Incredible
  • Nexus S
  • Nexus One
  • HTC EVO 4G

Update: Now you see it, now you don’t — streaming video that is.  Whatever wizardry that went on to make this one work has been undone, and we’re back to waiting on Netflix again.
